Menstrual Hygiene

In order for women, girls, and other menstruators to have an empowered, fulfilling life, good menstrual hygiene management (MHM) is essential. Many organizations are adopting a multi-sectoral, holistic approach to enhancing menstruation hygiene worldwide since the adverse effects of poor menstrual health and hygiene are cut across most areas. Menstrual health and hygiene requirements are not fulfilled due to gender inequality, discriminatory social norms, cultural taboos, poverty, and a lack of basic amenities like restrooms and sanitary products.  Many young women need to fully and accurately understand their menstrual cycle as a natural biological phenomenon.
